Laser Surgery
Laser Surgery for skin imperfections:
The use of laser technology in medicine is one of the most
exciting scientific developments in the past few decades. Lasers
have been developed for a variety of medical procedures, and can now
be a great benefit in treating sun-damaged skin, facial wrinkles and
scars and for removing skin moles and lesions.

A surgical laser such as the CO2 laser is a beam of light that
can remove unwanted tissue without the bleeding associated with
traditional surgical procedures. Skin imperfections can be treated
one layer at a time to improve facial wrinkles, acne scars and other
skin imperfections in both men and women.
Laser skin resurfacing may be used as an alternative to chemical
peels and dermabrasion. The benefits to using a laser technique are
a faster recovery time and less discomfort. In most cases, only one
treatment is necessary, and the initial redness caused by treatment
fades in a few weeks and can be camouflaged by make-up.
The goal of laser skin resurfacing is to improve facial appearance.

Another technological marvel which Dr. Geunes employs routinely is the carbon dioxide laser. The laser is used for performing oral and facial biopsies and removal of lesions. Surgery with the laser can be performed in the office with anesthesia and is particularly useful in removing that unwanted facial mole or skin lesion. The laser cuts and removes tissue in a bloodless fashion reducing or eliminating the need for sutures |
Dr. Geunes employs a CO2 laser in treating patients to provide "state of the art" care not available in many offices.
